Galena Lodge is now hiring for the upcoming winter season. Galena Lodge is a small day lodge located 23 miles North of Ketchum, Idaho in the central Rocky mountains. We are located at 7300 feet at the base of the Boulder and Smokey Mountains.

Galena is a great place for those seeking solitude, great skiing in both the backcountry and on the Nordic trails. We are surrounded by 10,000 foot peaks that provide excellent opportunities for those seeking adventure. Our Nordic trails are some of the best in the Nation if not the world. Impeccably groomed and maintained to challenge the most experienced skier or to inspire even the most novice. We are looking for the right fit for our small group and all applicants should be independent, self motivated, honest and athletic.

Recreation

Galena Lodge is 23 miles north of Sun Valley in central Idaho. We are a nestled into a confluence of four mountain ranges all of which are unique. Situated in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Galena has stepped out of its’ 1890’s mining heritage to emerge as a hub of summer and winter recreation for the Wood River Valley and beyond.

Summer: Lots of Hiking, Miles of Mountain Biking, Camping, Great Fly Fishing, Lots of mountain lakes and hot springs to explore.

Winter: Cross country skiing from the deck, Endless Backcountry Skiing (no lifts), Miles of Snow Shoeing.

Room and Board

Room and Board may be included in an employment agreement. Housing varies from small cabins to a large yurt or an apartment attached to the lodge. Some lodging is shared and some is for individuals. Couples are encouraged to apply and friendly pets are welcome with a deposit.

A fun place to work in a small business environment rather than a large corporate concessionaire. Room and board are included for those who live on site, equipment discounts etc.

Transportation Info

You don’t need a car to work and live at Galena but you’ll have a lot more fun enjoying the area if you do (this is straight from former employees). There is a shuttle from Boise to Sun Valley during peak season and it is possible to fly into Hailey. The Greyhound goes through Twin Falls (2 hours south).
