Just a half hour from Salt Lake City, lies the perfect place for a winter hideaway – a winter vacation the way it used to be. It's a simpler, more peaceful world that can only be described as "solitude". Up here, over 500 inches of annual snowfall covers 1200 acres of terrain, while a complete lack of over-crowding assures nothing and no one will ever stand between you and your Solitude.

Recreation

Solitude Mountain Resort and Big Cottonwood Canyon offer an array of activities for all ages.  From Hiking, Biking, fishing and camping in the summer, to world class skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing in the winter.  Solitude offers 1,200 + acres (2,047 vertical feet) of wide-open powder bowls, gladed tree runs, steep chutes and gentle cruising boulevards. This season Solitude will unveil two new high-speed quads accessing the heart of the mountain. The winter season begins on November 14th and will run until Mid April.

Room and Board

Transportation Info

The UTA ski buses run throughout the day up and down Big Cottonwood Canyon.  With employment at Solitude you will receive a free bus pass as well as a TRAX train pass which will allow you to move around the Salt Lake Valley with ease.
